Pass structure on The Wallet Crew
What type of information is available on a pass
Here is all the information that forms the backbone of a pass.
General
Let’s start by remembering that The Wallet Crew does not store any personal data, and only store an external identifiers that allows us to build a pass from the data of other systems. In fact, The Wallet Crew follows a privacy-first approach by default, storing no personal data—only external identifiers used to build passes from other systems. In some specific cases, we allow storing non-sensitive data (like additional data or metadata infos) to enhance the wallet experience, but we always recommend minimizing data to what’s functionally and analytically necessary.
On the general block, you can find again the creation date, the last update date, apple and google status, as well as the pass type (template) of your pass. You can only modify the pass type
Identifiers
The external identifiers are used to connect the pass to other systems, in order to build it. For example, your pass can be connected to Cegid Y2 if you use it. With this connection through a unique identifier and via an API call, the information displayed on the pass (name, last name) is displayed but not stored on The Wallet Crew.
A single pass can be connected to multiple systems, and therefore, may have different identifiers, each corresponding to its integration point.
You can add a key and a value to connect your pass to Shopify, Cegid, Klaviyo and many more!
Metadata
Metadatas are used to segment your passes based on specific values.
This allows you to differentiate certain passes from others within your system.
For example, you can add a metadata field called “storeId” to each pass. This enables you to organize and segment your passes by store. So, if you want to send a push notification about an event happening at a particular location, you can target only the passes associated with that specific store.
Additional data
Additional data refers to optional information that is not required to create a pass and is not used for segmenting your pass database. It’s a kind of data that is not available in the system we are connected with.
For example, it can be a welcome text on Klaviyo that you want to display on only specific passes.
Additional data is considered external data and can be attached to an individual pass to enrich the customer experience!
External data
The external data is simply all of the data that were used to create a pass, and that are collected from outside of The Wallet Crew. It’s the data that we use but that we don’t store! You can take a look on of of your pass to see what information we gathered and from where in order to build it.
